Man found dead in burning Crosby home, cause of fire unknown

CROSBY, Texas — Authorities in Crosby are reconstructing what led to a fatal house fire Monday night.

It happened just before 1 a.m. at a home on Krenek Road. on Highway 90 in northeast Harris County. That’s when officials said a neighbor driving past the burning home called 911.

Several firefighters from various departments assisted and when firefighters arrived on scene they found heavy flames in the rear of the home. An unknown man, probably in his 50s, was also found lifeless in the living room.

The fire department got the man out of the house, but despite life-saving measures, he didn’t make it out.

It is unclear at this time what caused the fire, but an investigation is ongoing.
