First alarm forecast: Several rounds of rain

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – We need to keep our umbrellas closed this week as multiple showers and storms are expected across the Mid State.

BEGINNING AND MIDDLE OF THE WEEK

We’ve had a great weekend of weather in middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky, but we need to have the umbrella handy to start the work week.

There will be a few showers this morning, but more showers and some rumbling thunder will be added this afternoon. I do think we’ll find some decent dry gaps, but it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the sky and have your umbrella ready. Today’s highs will be in the low 70s.

More isolated showers and storms will move in tomorrow, with some isolated storms bringing gusty winds or even small hail. However, no widespread threat of severe weather is expected. Highs for tomorrow afternoon will reach the mid and perhaps even upper 70s in some places.

There will be one or two more showers on Wednesday, but most areas should be dry for much longer. Highs on Wednesday will remain in the 70s.

LATE WEEK

Thursday looks to be the best day of the work week as there will be no rain, the sun will return and high temperatures will be in the low 80s.

Clouds, showers and storms return Friday, with highs in the upper 70s.

THIS WEEKEND

At this point I’m not ruling out a few showers over the weekend, but the timing and amount of precipitation is a bit uncertain at the moment. Highs will be in the 80s again this weekend.
