Man stabbed in Encinitas – NBC 7 San Diego

A man was stabbed in Encinitas and a suspect was arrested about a half-mile from the crime scene, authorities said Sunday.

Officers responding to a report of an assault in the 300 block of Sprucewood Drive around 10:15 p.m. Saturday found a man with a stab wound, Lt. Michael Krugh of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Paramedics took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Krugh said.

“Officers arrested the suspect approximately half a mile from the scene,” he said. “Sheriff’s Homicide Unit investigators are conducting an investigation and gathering additional evidence.”

Krugh confirmed to NBC 7 on Sunday that the suspect had been arrested.
