Zamfara APC rejects suspension of chairman, launches investigation

The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State has rejected the alleged suspension of its leader, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani.

In a statement by its Publicity Minister, Mallam Yusuf Idri, the Zamfara APC described the alleged suspension as the antics of some politicians who planned to destroy the party for selfish interests ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Idris said: “The state APC leadership wishes to urge the public to reject the alleged suspension of the party’s state chairman, Tukur Danfulani.”

“The action was initiated by some disgruntled promoters posing as party executives in Galadima area of Gusau Local Government Area.

“We are aware that some selfish politicians are trying to create problems in the APC in the state but we believe their evil plan will fail.

“Even though some members harbor grudges against the Chairman, there are constitutional channels and laid down rules and regulations to deal with such grievances which were not followed, therefore rendering the suspension invalid.

“All allegations made by the dissatisfied individuals are baseless and baseless and serve to destabilize unity within the party leadership and members at all levels.”

Describing the alleged suspension as a ruse, Idris said: “If you look at the paper that contained the alleged suspension, there is no APC logo or Galadima Municipality letterhead on it.

“But (it was) an ordinary paper used by students of the college that clearly showed the dubious act of suspension.

“Meanwhile, a machinery has been set in motion to investigate those behind the alleged suspension to maintain peace, law and order in the party.”
