Police are investigating after a teenager was shot outside Jacksonville apartments

JACKSONVIILE, N.C. (WITN) – Authorities say a 19-year-old was killed at an apartment complex in Jacksonville on Sunday.

According to Jacksonville police, they responded to the Windsor Place Apartments at 4679 Western Blvd at 1:26 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

When they arrived, they discovered a man had been shot outside the property.

According to police, first responders assisted the victim, later identified as 19-year-old Terrance Tyquawn Grant of Maysville, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Jacksonville Police Investigative Services Lieutenant Ashley Potter says the investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public.
