“I made his arrest possible”

A New York thug who was caught on video dragging a woman away using a belt as a lasso before brutally raping her has been brought to justice with the help of his own mother, who said she “facilitated” the arrest.

The shocking video that went viral on social media captured the moment 39-year-old Kashaan Parks dragged his victim, a 45-year-old woman, between two parked cars before killing himself in the May 1 incident got to her.

On Saturday, Parks was arrested on multiple charges, including “first-degree rape, assault, strangulation, sexual abuse, public indecency and harassment,” according to the New York Post, which spoke to his mother, Beverly Parks.

“I am his mother who reported him. I’m the one who made his arrest possible,” Parks, 56, told the outlet.

She said her son’s wife called her early Friday morning and told her he had choked and raped the woman, the Post reported.

“I found out about this yesterday morning at 5:12 a.m. and have been trying to get my son to do the right thing ever since. And that’s what I did,” she said.

According to his mother, the alleged rapist, who is unemployed and has two children, has been struggling with alcohol and drug problems in recent weeks since learning that his father died in a hospital in Belize last month,” the reported point of sale.

“He…had a one-year-old baby. “It’s not like he was walking the streets committing crimes and doing this,” Parks said. “I demanded that my son be held accountable for his actions, whether he was drunk, taking drugs or grieving.”

“He did something wrong and he has to deal with it. Period,” she said.

The horrific video of the “Lasso” attack captured the true essence of New York City in all its crime-ridden glory, because as Gotham’s Democratic Mayor Eric Adams proudly boasted in 2022, “We have a brand.” New York has one Brand and when people see it, it means something.”

Beverly Parks said her son, his wife and their young daughter lived in North Carolina, where they stayed with his wife’s parents before recently returning to Gotham.

“I said (to Kashaan), ‘I wish I had left you down there and never made that trip,'” she told the Post. “He just got back from New York. That’s why it was such a shock.”

“I am a woman and I am sorry that this happened to this person. I have to open and close my eyes every day and ask God to make sure this person is okay and for forgiveness for my son,” she said. “Whatever she has to live with, I’ll have to think about it for the rest of my life.”

“Kashaan Parks has already had two public arrests, including for allegedly assaulting a 46-year-old woman in the Bronx and for boarding an MTA bus without paying, police said,” the Post reported.
