Tottenham stabbing victim named as police launch murder investigation

A man stabbed to death in Tottenham on Sunday evening has been named by police as 25-year-old Jordan Briscoe.

Cordons were in place at the Arnold Road crime scene on Monday as police searched for forensic clues.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene at 10:17 p.m. and took the victim to hospital. He died later on Sunday in hospital.

Police said that while formal identification is pending, they believe the victim is Jordan Briscoe.

Officers have launched a murder investigation and are asking the public for help in finding those responsible.

Mr Briscoe’s family have been informed and are receiving support from professionals.

Met Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley said: “My deepest condolences go out to Jordan’s family and friends.

“Expert support is available to them and I can assure you that my colleagues and I will do everything we can to bring everyone involved in this tragic murder to justice.”

She appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious on Arnold Road, near Philip Lane or in the surrounding area to come forward.

“Coronavirus barriers are in place while officers carry out detailed forensic investigations in the area,” she said.

“Searches are taking place and extensive inquiries are underway to obtain any CCTV footage that may assist the investigation.”

A number of locals have already spoken to officers to provide information for the investigation, she added.

Police are conducting door-to-door investigations in the area and also met with community groups in the area Monday afternoon.

Met Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, responsible for local policing in the area, said: “Officers working at the scene have spoken to local people, including making door-to-door inquiries.

“I would ask anyone with information or concerns about crime in the area to speak to these officers.

“I met with partners and community representatives this afternoon to share our knowledge and listen to their concerns and suggestions.

“I am committed to ensuring that we continue to work together as the investigation progresses in the coming days.”
