Woodward-Granger’s school threat was determined to be false after a quick investigation

The Woodward-Granger School District says it was the target of a false threat Friday afternoon. Superintendent Mark Lane sent a letter to district families saying the district’s IT staff and law enforcement officers quickly found the source of the threat. “This event is a powerful reminder of the need for digital citizenship and awareness of our digital footprint,” Lane wrote. “Too often we become aware of poor and uninformed decisions students make when using social media, the Internet and tools such as cell phones, computers and tablets. … I hope every family will take a few minutes to discuss the smart use of technology about how our online actions can leave a trail of evidence for years to come. “Lane says the district is offering counseling to students shaken by the events. “Events like these are unfortunate and disturbing,” he wrote. “We understand that individuals may experience a range of emotions such as fear, anger, concern, sadness or grief.”
