Jacksonville woman dies after crash on I-295 freeway

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – A 55-year-old Jacksonville woman is dead after another car struck the rear of her vehicle on Interstate 295 at mile marker 57 at 4:28 p.m. Sunday

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car was traveling southbound in the right express lane on I-295 near MM 57.

The 55-year-old woman was stopped in the right lane in front of another car driven by a 39-year-old woman.

The other driver didn’t notice the car stopped in front of her and crashed into the back of the car.

The 39-year-old driver and a 15-year-old girl were taken to hospital.

Officials said the 55-year-old woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
