Coalition Urges APC to Suspend Ibrahim and Oke for Discrediting Primaries, Aiyedatiwa | The Guardian Nigeria News

“Your actions, your words are not forgiving,” Oke tells the groups
A coalition of youth groups, the Ondo Peoples Assembly (OPA), has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sanction the duo of Senators Jimoh Ibrahim and Olusola Oke over their alleged role following the April 20, 2024 primary elections.

The coalition, made up of youth groups, student associations and civil society organizations, said Ibrahim and Oke had continued to undermine the process after the primary elections that saw Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa emerge as the party’s standard-bearer ahead of the November gubernatorial election.

The convener of the coalition, Olufemi Lawson, flanked by Publicity Minister Kikelomo Isijola and other members, said during a media briefing in Akure, the Ondo State capital, that the two candidates also attacked the personality of Aiyedatiwa denigrating the party.
BUT, reacting to the development, Oke, who spoke through his spokesman, Ojo Oyewamide, said: “It is an insult to the sentiments of the people of Ondo State that these people claim to speak on their behalf.”The people of the state are not unhappy with every candidate seeking justice in court.

“Rather, they are unhappy with the crude and dirty manner in which the party introduced Aiyedatiwa as the party’s candidate.

“You are witnessing the senseless rape of internal democracy in our party.”

“As a result, the party’s rating was significantly affected.

“If there are members who want to destroy the party, they are the people who claimed that the governorship primary election took place in Ondo State when in reality there was nothing like it. They are supporters of Aiyedatiwa, whose actions and words are not at all conciliatory.”
