The suspect is 33-year-old Eric Bacon, who has been charged with burglary and first-degree rape of a minor.

The suspect then left “with an undisclosed amount of stolen property,” authorities said.

Later, while police were en route, a relative of the victim came home and noticed Bacon pacing in front of the residence before running away, police said.

Two days later, around 5 a.m., an officer on patrol noticed the suspect on the ground on the first floor of an apartment building on the same block where the sexual assault occurred, according to authorities.

Based on witness statements and surveillance video, Bacon was arrested and charged.

Charging documents show Bacon has been charged with burglary and robbery in the past.
