West Islip Police Blotter: Escape from an accident and a fake ID

WEST ISLIP, NY – Curious about what’s going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported from April 29 to May 5 in the West Islip area.

Suffolk County Police have released the following information. All charges are accusations and do not imply guilt.

  • April 30: Miriam Zuniga, of Milligan Lane in West Islip, was at the Department of Motor Vehicles at 1815 Jericho Turnpike when she intentionally filled out a driver’s license application under a false name to obtain a second driver’s license, police said. According to police, she was arrested and charged with furnishing a false instrument with intent to defraud.
  • April 30: Christopher Miller, of Oak Neck Road in West Islip, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe on Commack Road when he struck a police car that was on emergency call with its lights on and attempted to flee the scene, said the police with. He was arrested and charged with primarily leaving the scene of an accident and failing to produce his driver’s license, police said.
