Kamloops Sexual Assault Counseling Center hosts postcard-making workshops – Kamloops News

Create postcards for victims

The Kamloops Sexual Assault Counseling Center is inviting Kamloops residents to participate in a series of workshops to create postcards for its service users.

As part of Victim and Survivor Crime Week, the center is hosting several craft events themed “Postcards of Courage,” a series of workshops aimed at creating messages of support for those in need.

“These postcards, each a symbol of your support, will be donated to Sexual Assault Counseling Center service users to provide them with messages of hope and solidarity on their healing journey,” Kamloops Sexual Assault Counseling Center said.

The event will be held at Aberdeen Mall on May 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Stir on May 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Kamloops Public Library Downtown on May 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m Kamloops Farmers Market on Victoria Street on May 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m

Organizers say the event is intended to be inclusive, free to attend and open to all ages.

The events are sponsored by the Policy Center for Victim Issues at the Department of Justice Canada.
