Miranda Cosgrove had a stalker who set himself on fire and shot himself

Baby Reindeer fan Miranda Cosgrove revealed she went through something similar in real life.

The 30-year-old “iCarly” star had a stalker who set himself on fire in her yard and fatally shot himself eight years ago, she revealed in an interview with Bustle published Friday.

The stalker had previously shot a woman who resembled the actress and driven near Cosgrove’s home.

Years later, Cosgrove met this woman at a charity event in Los Angeles.

“This girl came up to me and said, ‘I didn’t know if I should tell you this or how to say it, but I’m actually the girl who was at your house and got shot’.” “Cosgrove said in the interview. “She seemed to process things in a similar way to me.”

The School of Rock star continued: “She said she had just gone through a breakup the night before and was going to her friend’s house because she was so distraught. When they took her to the Hollywood police station to ask what he looked like and how everything happened, the investigators said, “Start from the beginning. ‘What happened?’ And she said, ‘He broke up with me last night,’ and started telling them all about their breakup.”

The Hollywood star said the situation with her stalker made her feel unsafe in her own home.

“That’s another reason why I go to my parents’ house so often. “I just don’t feel particularly safe in this house,” she explained. “For two years after it happened, I wouldn’t really stay there. Then I got into a relationship and because that person was with me, I was less afraid. But I don’t really like being there alone.”

Despite the frightening incident, Cosgrove said she still enjoys watching “Baby Reindeer,” Netflix’s new hit series about a struggling comedian and bartender who becomes the object of a woman’s obsession.

“I haven’t thought much about it,” she said of the show, which is based on supposedly real-life experiences of creator and lead actor Richard Gadd. “I feel like if I were like that, it would be so hard to have to relive the most horrible experiences and then try to live them out.”

Cosgrove revealed her stalker history while promoting her new Netflix romantic comedy Mother of the Bride. The project, which was released on May 9, also stars Brooke Shields, Chad Michael Murray and Benjamin Bratt.
