We are only three days away from discovering the new Texans.

Rookie minicamp will take place Friday and Saturday at the Houston Methodist Training Center, and the Texans’ draft picks and rookie free agents will participate in meetings and on-field workouts.

In 13 days, they will join the veterans on the field for the first of six Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Most of the organization spent yesterday at the 21st annual Houston Texans Charity Golf Classic. Before it began, Cal and Hannah McNair, along with head coach DeMeco Ryans, met with the media and discussed a variety of topics.

Ryans was asked about the release of the schedule, which is expected to happen soon, and when he prefers to have a bye week during a season. He said that was the first thing he looked for and he preferred it to happen somewhere in the middle of the season and not after the fourth game.
