Video of Anthony Edwards throwing a chair at a Nuggets fan resurfaces as fans speculate that Jamal Murray will not be suspended

Jamal Murray was just fined $100,000 for throwing multiple objects toward a game official during live play. But many people said the Denver Nuggets’ top player should have been punished for endangering players. Although the league has made its final decision on the issue, discussions about it are still ongoing. The debate surrounding Adam Silver’s decision not to suspend Murray has intensified in light of a new report.

According to a post on Heavy.com, an unidentified manager revealed the details of what transpired behind closed doors while determining the appropriate punishment for Murray. According to the executive, Silver did not want to suspend the Nuggets star to avoid negative impact on ratings and viewership.

So he decided to simply charge a fee instead. The executive reportedly said:

“We all know what’s going on here. And it looks bad. It was about protecting the television audience for the next game… or games.”

Meanwhile, Nuggets supporters are fighting to keep Murray from being suspended. Fans unearthed a video from last season’s playoffs that shows Anthony Edwards throwing a chair at a Nuggets fan. This should at least partially support the league’s decision to punish Murray fairly.

After missing a three-pointer, Ant can be seen in the video running towards the tunnel. The Wolves star picked up a chair and swung it into the air, almost hitting two uninjured passers-by.

Luckily, he backed away slightly at the last second and let the chair fall to the floor. This argument is being used by Denver supporters to defend Murray’s smooth release from punishment.

Joel Embiid and Edwards were not punished for their recent on-court shenanigans, as one fan pointed out. Therefore, it is unfair to expect such a severe punishment from Murray.
