Woman allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted after getting into a PH taxi

Police are looking for three people who are said to have robbed and sexually abused a 47-year-old woman.

Due to the sensitivity of the report, information identifying the victim is omitted.

The woman told police she boarded a vehicle she thought was a ‘PH’ taxi near Preysal flyover around noon on Friday.

There were three other people in the vehicle at the time, including a passenger and the driver.

The vehicle drove away and when it reached the vicinity of Camden Base Road, one of the men pulled out a gun and announced a robbery.

The gunman robbed her of cash, cell phone and other valuables.

The other passenger then placed a mustard-colored pillowcase over her head and the victim was taken to another location.

The victim was then sexually abused.

She was then ordered to leave the roadway and soon found herself on Factory Road in Chaguanas.

The suspects then drove away.

The victim raised the alarm and people in the area called police and paramedics.

She was taken to the Chaguanas District Hospital for treatment.
