Reservist killed in crash in St. John the Baptist Parish

GARYVILLE, La. (WGNO) — Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a crash that killed a reserve man on Thursday, May 9, in Garyville.

The LSP reported that the accident occurred on US 61 near Louisiana 54 around 10:40 p.m


They said an initial investigation revealed that 44-year-old Conrad Jones was driving a Ford north on US 61 when it left the road and entered a ditch before overturning.

Jones suffered fatal injuries and was taken to a hospital where he later died. According to LSP, Jones was not restrained at the time of the accident.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing and a routine toxicology sample was collected.
