Omaha police are investigating a late-night murder

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police are investigating after an early morning stabbing left a 17-year-old dead.

OPD says six dispatch officers were called to the area of ​​53rd and Spaulding Streets shortly after 3 a.m. for a call of “unknown medical nature.” Before officers arrived, they were informed that a person had been stabbed and was being taken to Nebraska Medicine by private vehicle. At the scene, officers spoke with witnesses who said the suspect was still on scene. She was arrested without incident and taken to OPD headquarters for questioning.

The victim, identified as Ezra Sinkiawic, died from his injuries. The 18-year-old suspect was booked into the Douglas County Jail and faces charges of murder and using a knife to commit a felony.
