Man dead after Miami Beach club shooting – NBC 6 South Florida

A man was killed in a shooting at a Miami Beach club early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:29 a.m., Miami police responded to a shooting at 1532 Washington Avenue, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

“Officers immediately began CPR until the Miami Beach Fire Department arrived,” said Miami Beach police spokesman Officer Christopher Bess.

The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

NBC6 cameras captured the aftermath of the shooting. The police had placed yellow caution tape on the street and at the entrance to the club. A van from the Miami Beach crime scene group could be seen at the crime scene.

According to witnesses, a man shot at an Exchange South Beach bouncer. This information has not been confirmed by police.

“We heard a few shots and that was it… People started running,” said Levi Fuller, who happened to be at the scene when the shooting occurred. “Some said it was a promoter.”

“The beach is crazy,” Fuller said. “Too much trouble on the beach.”

“This is America,” one of the witnesses told NBC6 after recalling the incident.

NBC6 has reached out to Exchange South Beach for comment on the shooting.

There is currently no information available on a possible suspect or reason for the shooting.
