New Orleans police say three men were injured in the Holy Cross shooting | Crime/Police

Three men were shot by a passing driver while standing outside a store on St. Claude Avenue Saturday evening, the New Orleans Police Department said.

The men were standing near the intersection of St. Claude and Lizardi streets in Holy Cross when a car turned onto the 1000 block of Lizardi and someone in the back seat opened fire, hitting all three men, police said.

All victims were taken to a hospital, one of them by ambulance, police said.

The shooting was reported to police at 10:40 p.m. Officials initially did not release any further information.
