Continue searching for boater who struck and killed water skier near Key Biscayne

MIAMI – Florida Fish and Wildlife is searching for the boater who hit a girl near Key Biscayne and flew away.

A girl is dead after being struck by a boat while water skiing, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife.

It happened off the coast of Key Biscayne near Nixon Beach.

Initial information indicates to investigators that the person who hit her was last seen heading west from Nixon Beach.

“The striking vessel is described as having a light blue center console, possibly with blue or dark blue bottom paint, and three or four white outboard engines. It was last seen heading west from Nixon Beach in Key Biscayne,” an official said.

FWC asks anyone who witnessed this incident or has information to contact the hotline or call police.
