Two dead after shooting on South Howard Avenue, Tampa police say

According to police, the shooting happened just before 3 a.m. outside a Jimmy John’s restaurant. They said three men were injured and taken to hospital, where two of them died.

TPD officials said some officers were on patrol nearby, but no one was injured in the shooting.

Police Chief Lee Bercaw said the department has not yet made an arrest and is asking the community for help.

“What we don’t have at this time is video and we’re asking the public who we know people were out here filming this to let us know as we try to unveil the details of this investigation,” he said said.

Police said both groups involved in the shooting knew each other and were not on good terms with each other.
