Montreal police are investigating a suspicious death in the Plateau neighborhood.

Around 5 a.m. Sunday, police received a 911 call about a man lying unconscious in an alley near Avenue Parc and Mount Royal

Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant from the service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) says the man was in his 30s.

After officers performed CPR on the man, they pronounced him dead at the scene.

Brabant said police treated the death as suspicious after seeing signs of violence on the man’s body.

He says investigators are now trying to find witnesses and also review surveillance video in the area.
