Tragedy as an Edinburgh man was pronounced dead as emergency services rushed onto a busy street

Edinburgh Police have confirmed a man died after emergency workers rushed to South Queensferry.

Paramedics and officers were seen at The Lorn on Saturday, May 11, after receiving reports of a man feeling unwell in Hill Court at 3.20pm.

Police were called to assist emergency responders, but despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police Scotland said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Eyewitnesses said that “several police cars and ambulances” were at the scene around 3:45 p.m.

In a photo shared on social media, a police car and an ambulance can be seen, with the Forth Bridge in the background. There may be a crowd near a bus stop.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 3.20pm on Saturday, May 11, police were called to summon an ambulance after a man became unwell in Hill Court, South Queensferry.”

“Emergency services attended the scene and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Crown Prosecution Service.”
