Three injured and one arrested after off-site incident

Three people were injured in a disturbance outside a shop in Prestwich overnight.

Emergency services were called to Bury New Road at around 12.50pm today, Sunday.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.

It is understood the incident occurred near the junction with Church Lane.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “At around 12.50pm this morning (May 12), officers responded to reports of a disturbance outside a shop in Bury New Road, Prestwich.”

“Three people suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-threatening.

“A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.”
