Deaths of a man and woman in Joliet are being investigated as a murder-suicide

A man killed his wife during an argument and then killed himself in Joliet on Saturday, according to police in the southwest suburbs.

The 32-year-old man stabbed his 35-year-old wife outside a home in the 3400 block of Pandola Avenue and then stabbed himself, police said. They were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, where both were pronounced dead.

The couple, who were not identified, were going through a divorce, police said.

A 3-year-old child was in the home at the time of the attack but was not injured, police said. The state Department of Children and Family Services was notified.
