Anonymous has claimed to have attacked Georgian government websites and state-run “propaganda” media

Anonymous has vowed to continue cyberattacks on government websites if authorities do not stop violence against protesters. The hacking group Anonymous said it had carried out a series of cyberattacks on Georgian government websites and state media outlets “serve as propaganda channels” in response to police violence against peaceful demonstrators.

The hackers wrote about it on the social network X.

The hackers clarified that more than 30 Georgian government websites were targeted in the attacks, most of which are currently offline.

Anonymous reiterated its message to Georgian Prime Minister Iraqi Kobakhidze, promising to continue cyberattacks on government websites if authorities do not stop targeting protesters.

“In addition, the Kremlin puppet government in Georgia has implemented Russian “foreign agent” laws aimed at silencing dissenting and independent media and targeting organizations critical of the government,” Anonymous wrote.

The hackers emphasized their support for the Georgian people in their fight for democracy, freedom and prosperity and they wanted Georgia, “Free from Russian influence to support its pursuit of a bright future.”

“If your government continues to use the police to brutally attack protesters, we will respond with even more ferocious cyberattacks on government websites!” the hackers told Kobakhidze.
