This US police department uses Rolls Royce as a patrol car

The unusual choice of patrol car caused debate among Internet users.

A $250,000 custom-made Rolls-Royce patrol car is the newest recruiting tool available to the Miami Beach Police Department. The department borrowed the vehicle from luxury retailer Braman Motors to attract law enforcement candidates.

“MBPD and its professional staff embody the highest standards of commitment and quality policing in our unparalleled commitment to the residents and visitors we serve. “We are excited to introduce this impressive addition to the MBPD recruiting team, courtesy of @bramanmotors, the Miami Police Department,” wrote on X alongside a video. The video showed the opulent car with lights and sirens surrounded by two police officers on motorcycles.

Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones said, “It is difficult to recruit police officers in this country today. It will be great to have this car help with recruiting.”

The unusual choice of patrol car caused debate among Internet users. The ministry claimed that the fully equipped 2012 Rolls-Royce Ghost was provided free to taxpayers, but many questioned where the money for it came from.

“I don’t know why, but I keep wanting to stroll around Miami Beach so I can maybe catch a ride,” one user said.

Another wrote: “Only in Miami.”

One person said: “You need to fire whoever had the idea.”

One user commented: “It’ll be fun as hell if someone steals the Rolls-Royce police car!!!”

“Rolla Royce? For what? Thousands of dollars in maintenance from taxpayers…” one person remarked.

According to the Miami Herald, the vehicle is borrowed from the dealer and finally returned. Fueling and maintenance will be handled by Braman and the police will only be liable if the vehicle is damaged while in his care.
