On Monday evening, the Butler County coroner identified the three people killed as 65-year-old Gregory Meyer of Middletown, 52-year-old Patrick Michael Pelton of Liberty Township and 52-year-old Nicole Collins of Liberty Township. The Ross Local School District referred to Nicole as Nicole Pelton and said she had been a teacher at Ross Middle School for 22 years. According to police, three vehicles were involved in the accident and were seriously damaged. A car ended up upside down on the side of the road. The 911 calls detailed what people saw as the driver drove the wrong way. According to police, Meyer was the driver of the car that was traveling in the wrong direction leading up to the accident.
