2 dead, 4 injured in Atlanta nightclub shooting; Shooter on the loose – WFTV

ATLANTA (AP) — Two people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting in an Atlanta neighborhood early Sunday, authorities said.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, the shooting occurred at the Elleven45 Lounge in the city’s Buckhead District, WSB-TV reported.

According to police, three of the shooting victims were men and three were women, WSB reported. All were between 20 and 30 years old.

Police responded to the club, located at 2110 Peachtree Rd NW near Bennett Street, around 2:30 a.m. EDT. According to the television station, a man and a woman died after a gunman started shooting during a fight in the club. Police are searching for the suspect in the shooting.

Lt. Andrew Smith, head of the Atlanta Police Department’s homicide unit, said the four injured people were in stable condition at an area hospital and were expected to survive.

It was unclear what led to the club brawl.

According to the television station, police are reviewing the club’s surveillance to learn more about the incident and obtain a description of the suspect.

An investigation is underway.
