The Young Bucks return to NJPW at Resurgence; Attack AEW Star

The Young Bucks returned to NJPW to ambush another AEW star.

At NJPW Resurgence on May 11, Eddie Kingston lost the final piece of his Triple Crown Championship when Bullet Club’s Gabe Kidd defeated The Mad King in a brutal No Ropes Last Man Standing match for the STRONG Openweight Title.

After the fight, things went from bad to worse for Kingston when Jack Perry entered the ring. While “The Scapegoat” provided a distraction, The Young Bucks ran into the ring and attacked Kingston from behind before taking him out with an EVP trigger.

It was the moment the Bucks set foot in a New Japan ring for the first time since leaving the company in 2019 to form All Elite Wrestling. The duo has a long history in the promotion, where they were a key part of Bullet Club and won the IWGP Junior Tag Team Titles seven times.

The Young Bucks will be part of a big match at AEW Double Or Nothing

On the May 8 edition of Dynamite, Kenny Omega announced a huge Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. In the bout, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will team with Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry to take on “Team AEW.”

FTR were the first stars announced for the home team and later in the episode they announced they had found partners in Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson. The eight men were feuding as the show went out, and the Bucks’ attack on Kingston at Resurgence showed that this feud would only escalate ahead of the final showdown in Las Vegas on May 26.
