Jersey City police are investigating a violent knife attack that occurred overnight that left a 29-year-old man seriously injured.Authorities responded to 911 calls around midnight reporting an injured man in the 50 block of Stuyvesant Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim had multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. Details of his condition were not released, but the injuries were serious enough to require immediate medical attention.

The circumstances that led to the knife attack are still unclear and investigators are working to determine the motive behind the attack.

Police have reported no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
