Russia attacks 10 communities in Sumy Oblast

As the regional administration reported on May 11, Russian forces attacked ten communities in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy Oblast in 21 separate attacks throughout the day. At least 93 explosions were reported in Sumy Oblast in the last 24 hours.

A woman aged around 37 was killed in a rocket attack on the outskirts of the northeastern city of Sumy early this morning, the regional military administration reported. The strike was directed against local infrastructureofficials said, without providing further details about the target or consequences.

In addition to the regional capital, the municipalities of Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Shalyhyne and Seredyna-Buda were also targeted.

Throughout the day, Russia attacked border communities with mortar, artillery and drone attacks. At least two communities had mines dropped on their territory on May 11.

Local authorities did not provide any information about the damage to civilian property.

Sumy Oblast borders on Bryansk, Russia, KurskAnd Belgorod Oblasts. Russian attacks on the region have become increasingly destructive in recent months, killing and injuring civilians.

Military: Russian forces contained in Kharkiv Oblast, fighting continues

A military spokesman said fighting continued in the Lyptsi and Vovchansk directions and Ukrainian forces were hunting Russian troops who he said were hiding in forest areas.
