CIA chief offers Israel information on Yahya Sinwar in exchange for stopping Rafah attack

Tel Aviv: William Burns, the head of the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has offered information about Hamas military chief Yahya Sinwar in exchange for Israel stopping its ground invasion Rafah Region. Sinwar has been on Israel’s hit list since war with Hamas broke out on October 7 after the group attacked southern Israel.

Sinwar is reportedly hiding in the tunnel network between Khan Younis and the Rafah region.

The Rafah area is densely populated and has around 1.3 million residents, including many women and children who sought refuge in the city after fleeing violence elsewhere in the Gaza Strip. Therefore, the United States and other countries have tried to discourage Israel from a full-scale ground invasion of the city.
