Police: 2 shots fired in Franklin neighborhood

Two people were taken to area hospitals after a shooting in Franklin.

Franklin police were called to the 1200 block of N. Aberdeen Drive in the Branigin Woods neighborhood for a report of a shooting Saturday afternoon around 1:48 p.m. They found two people, a man and a woman between the ages of 32 and 35, with gunshot wounds, Police Chief Kirby Cochran said.

Both individuals were transported to be treated for their injuries. Cochran wasn’t sure if the injuries were life-threatening as of 2:20 p.m., he said.

There is no reason for the public to be concerned at this time, Cochran said. Franklin police do not believe another shooter or anyone else is involved at this time, he said.
