The Main Intelligence Directorate attacked three military facilities on the territory of Russia

On the night of May 12, three important facilities on the territory of Russia were attacked. The operation was carried out by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

The Volgograd oil refinery was attacked. According to Shot, several loud explosions were heard around 2:30 a.m. near the company in the Chervonoarmiysky district of the Volgograd region. Previously, the characteristic sound of UAVs was reportedly audible. The channel notes that Ukrainian drones were allegedly jammed by electronic warfare (EW) means, causing them to crash on the oil refinery site and causing a fire that was promptly extinguished. No casualties or injuries were reported. The attack and fire on the plant was confirmed by the region’s governor Andrey Bocharov.

The Kaluganefteprodukt oil depot in the settlement of Lyudinovo and the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant were also targeted.

Sources said these attacks hit military targets, all carried out by the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate.

It is worth noting that these Russian facilities have previously been targeted by Ukrainian intelligence services. For example, the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant has been monitored by Ukrainian drones at least twice before.

In total, four regions of the Russian Federation were attacked by air strikes overnight. For example, three drones were shot down by Russian air defense systems over the Bryansk region, two over the Lipetsk region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, two tactical missiles, Tochka-U, were intercepted over the territory of the Belgorod region.

In addition, drones attacked Shebekino, where power lines were damaged, leaving the town and several villages without power.
