The Chester County carnival was shut down by police because of an unruly crowd of teenagers

EXTON, Pa. (CBS) – Police closed a carnival in Chester County for the night after a group of teenagers created what officials said was an unsafe environment for fairgoers.

West Whiteland police said a large crowd of youths were at a carnival on the south lot of Exton Square Mall in Exton, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Police said they asked the owners to close the fairgrounds Saturday night because of the unruly crowds.

Police said additional officers from agencies across the county were brought in to help with crowd control.

Police are asking anyone with video of the incident to submit it via the hotline to assist with the investigation.

The Exton Square Spring Carnival runs May 9-18.

All information related to ticket refunds must be forwarded to carnival staff, police said.
