Jeremy Renner walked the red carpet for the first time since his horrific snowplow accident

Months after Jeremy Renner suffered life-threatening injuries in a snowplow accident, he’s back on track.

The Hawkeye star and his family walked the red carpet of his new Disney+ show Rennerationsin which he renovates used vehicles for underserved communities around the world.

Renner used a cane to get to the premiere at the Westwood Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles and walked a bit before hopping on an electric scooter for press interviews.

Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after being crushed by a snowcat on New Year’s Day. When the accident occurred, Renner was using his snow groomer to free his nephew’s vehicle from the snow. When he got out of the snow groomer, it rolled downhill towards his nephew. According to a sheriff’s department report, Renner attempted to stop the car but was pulled under the car by the rail and was run over.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer last week, the actor revealed that while he was in critical condition in the hospital, he wrote his final words to his family but ultimately “chose to survive.”

Renner continued Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, where he was greeted with a standing ovation. The two-time Oscar nominee also spoke about how fellow Avenger Paul Rudd would bring some joy into his life with a faux cameo.

Speaking of his avenger family, some joked in their group chat that Renner was “unhinged.” Rennerationsbut the construction veteran called the show a “driving force” in his recovery.

“I have been on this journey for many years and began building vehicles in my community for people in need,” Renner said in a statement about the four-part series. “But a few years ago I thought, how can I amplify that and have a bigger impact on an entire community — and that’s exactly what this show does.”

He added: “This is one of my greatest passions and a driving force in my recovery and I can’t wait for the world to see it.”

Rennerations Premieres April 12th on Disney+.
