Man killed after knife attack near Capitol Hill light rail. UW station to Westlake station closed

Seattle Fire has confirmed the death of a 30-year-old man after he was stabbed near the Capitol Hill light rail station.

Emergency responders treated the man before paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, said David Cuerpo, public information officer for the Seattle Fire Department.

β€œThe patient was pronounced dead at the hospital,” Cuerpo said.

According to Sound Transit, the Capitol Hill station will remain closed until Sunday.

Buses will be used to move around the closures.

Sound Transit has informed KIRO 7 that the closure is expected to last a few hours.
