Businessman sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment for rape in Guwahati

Guwahati: District and Sessions Court Judge Kamrup Metropolitan sentenced a businessman to seven years rigorous imprisonment (RI) for his involvement in a 2010 rape case in Guwahati city. Convicted Dipankar Sinha was accused of raping a young woman in his own home in 2010. He was arrested from Chandmari police station in connection with a case (134/2010). After 14 years, the court finally granted justice to the rape victim.
