AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) – Six people were killed at a campground in East Texas over the weekend and a suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of murder, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday. A man and a woman were found dead in a trailer at the scene near Palestine, about 170 miles northeast of Austin. The bodies of four men were found Monday in a pond behind the suspect’s apartment, the authority said. The four are said to have been at the campsite at the weekend and were initially considered missing. No motive for the incident has been revealed. The names of those killed have not yet been released. William Hudson, 33, was arrested without incident Sunday and charged with one count of murder. Bail was set at $2.5 million, it said. The victims were members of two different local families who lived in a trailer owned by one of the victims, local television station KYTX reported. The suspect is unrelated to the victims of the incident, which occurred at the campsite northwest of Palestine, it said.
