Knoxville Police are investigating a hit-and-run in South Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Knoxville Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that appears to have occurred late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

KPD said the hit-and-run occurred on Maryville Pike in South Knoxville.

When officers found the car, they said there were no occupants inside, but there were signs of alcohol consumption.

“Our officers are committed to stopping drunk driving and holding them accountable for their reckless decisions,” KPD said.

KPD also reminded the public to always use a sober driver or ride-sharing app when drinking alcohol.
