Threat investigations lead to closure of Claremore schools

Claremore Public Schools will be closed Tuesday as police investigate a threat “that could lead to dangerous conditions in the area.”

The statement from district administrators said the Claremore Police Department is investigating the threat, which officials said “has no connection to the school.”

“Safety is our top priority and the CPD needs more time to investigate,” the message said.

Police said they were notified about 5 a.m. Tuesday “of a vague bomb threat at Baker Hughes,” an oilfield services company. The building has been evacuated and is currently being checked for any suspicious items or packages.

Claremore High School and Will Rogers Junior High School are near Baker Hughes, “and out of an abundance of caution, school administrators have closed all campuses for today,” police said.
