Two seriously injured, one arrested after vehicle collision and shooting in Adair County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating a vehicle collision and shooting that occurred Saturday morning in Adair County.

KSP received a call from the Adair County Sheriff’s Office around 7:55 a.m. requesting assistance.

The preliminary investigation revealed that 50-year-old Gregory J. Willis and 46-year-old Mark Hatcher, both of Columbia, were involved in a vehicle collision on KY 704. Immediately afterwards, Willis fired a firearm, striking Hatcher.

The passenger in Hatcher’s vehicle, 23-year-old William Feese of Columbia, was injured in the collision. Both Feese and Hatcher were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Willis fled the scene before police arrived. Officers later located him in a wooded area on Paul Frankum Road in Adair County at approximately 1:56 p.m.

He was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree assault.

Willis is currently being held at the Adair County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.

This is an ongoing investigation.
