Buffalo Bills sign Depew native and UB alum Joe Andreessen

The Buffalo Bills are going local as they work on their roster.

On Saturday, the Bills signed linebacker Joe Andreessen, who attended the Bills’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Andreessen is a native of Depew and spent time at the University at Buffalo.

Andreessen (6-1, 232 pounds) played high school football at Lancaster High School. There, he was a two-time all-state linebacker.

He started his college career at Bryant University. Andreessen played five seasons at Bryant, where he set a school record in 2022 with 116 tackles, earning All-America honors.

He then went to UB as a graduate student, starting all of last season for the Bulls. In 12 games, Andreessen recorded 90 tackles and 12 tackles for loss, both led by his team. He had a sack, two passes defended and a forced fumble as well.
