2 shootings in Batesburg-Leesville are under investigation

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. – Police in Batesburg-Leesville are investigating two late-night shootings they believe are related.

According to Chief Darren Amick of the Batesburg-Leesville Police Department, a shooting occurred near the Waffle House on West Church Street around 11 p.m. Friday. Police said they were notified when the victim arrived at a local hospital.

Another shooting occurred less than an hour later near the Exxon supermarket and gas station at 102 North Pine Street. Investigators said they found a shooting victim across the street in the Dollar General parking lot.

Authorities said the victims’ wounds were not life-threatening and one had already been released from the hospital.
