Madison man arrested for allegedly threatening a group with a knife

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A Madison man was arrested for allegedly threatening a group of five people with a knife on Friday, the UW-Madison Police Department reports.

According to the department, at approximately 2:40 a.m. officers were dispatched to Lakeshore Path near Memorial Union in reference to a person threatening a group with a knife.

The group claimed a man pulled out a knife and followed them. They then ran and called the police, UWPD said.

The 29-year-old was found based on the group’s description and was arrested without incident, UWPD said. The police are said to have found a box cutter on him.

According to officers, the man was arrested for disorderly conduct with a weapon, possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
