North Dakota woman faces multiple charges after incident Friday afternoon in Pierre

A 20-year-old woman from Hankinson, North Dakota, is facing assault charges following an incident Friday afternoon (May 3, 2024, 2:45 p.m.) with Pierre.

Pierre Patrol responded to the 2300 block of Flag Mountain Drive in Pierre for a noise complaint. Patrol officers arrived at the residence and contacted 20-year-old Mexican male Heaven Leigh, who was smoking a vape at the time. The officers also learned that the Mexican woman had been drinking alcohol and that there was an arrest warrant against her.

The Mexican national was arrested and taken to the Hughes County Jail. At the Hughes County Jail, a Mexican man attacked another woman who was in the same cell as the Mexican man. A patrol officer and several correctional officers intervened to stop the attack. The victim of the attack suffered minor injuries.

Mexican was held on the warrant and also charged with obstructing an officer or correctional officer, simple assault, tobacco possession and underage drinking.
