Thug uses belt as a lasso to choke and rape woman

A man remains on the run after raping a woman he tied around her neck with his belt in New York City.

Kashaan Parks, 39, was named as a suspect nine days after the attack on a 45-year-old woman in the South Bronx. The NYPD told DailyMail.com that Parks has not been arrested but he may turn himself in. Police confirmed the woman was near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue around 3 a.m. when the man walked up behind her and placed his belt around the victim’s neck. The woman became unconscious before she was subsequently raped.

Police only found out about the incident when the victim was arrested for petty theft and then told them about the ordeal. This was despite footage of the violent attack going viral on social media. The unnamed woman then identified Parks as the man who raped her.

Patrol Chief Joseph Kenny told amNY, “Our victim stated that she had seen him before; she actually described his teeth to us; he had unusual teeth. She said he had space between his teeth.’

Parks, who is a father of one, is said to have dragged his victim down the sidewalk before leaning over her body. Officers believed the attack followed an earlier conversation between the pair about paid sex, during which the victim was offered money.

But when that didn’t happen, police allege, Parks became extremely angry and allegedly strangled and raped the victim.

It came after an alleged sex offender was punched in the face by a victim’s father outside the courtroom where they were due to appear. Yousuf Azami, accused of kidnapping, indecency and sexual assault of a young girl, beat a man believed to be the victim’s father, Glenn Cromwell Jr.

Cromwell Jr. followed the 59-year-old Azami down a corridor and landed a punch that knocked him off his feet. After throwing Azami to the ground, Cromwell Jr. continued punching and kicking him, despite several people, including a police officer, attempting to break up the fight.

Cromwell Jr. has since been arrested and charged with assault. The incident occurred as Azami was preparing to stand trial over an alleged attempted rape at the Mirage Hotel on September 3. According to the New York Post, the girl was said to have been 14 or 15 years old at the time of the attack.
